The above screenshots will be linked to directly by numbers 1-5 in order from top left to bottom right.
1. In this screenshot you can see one of the actors running full speed down a corridor towards the camera. Right from the start they wanted to have the film on an upbeat fast paced adventure. This is a great sequence to set the pace.
2. From this screenshot you can see how the pace of the video has carried on increasing as there is now a car drifting along the middle of road. This appeals to a lot of people as most teenagers and men like cars, so by seeing this they will be intrigued into watching more. The old styled cop car is used on purpose as the video is a parody to various police dramas.
3. In this scene it starts showing you the band members characters in funny freeze frames after a series of short clips showing them in action situations. Making this whole sequence humorous.
4. This screenshot is an extreme close up of someones face wearing a fake wig, beard and moustache, wielding a knife. This scene is funny because it is straight up taking the mickey out of the police dramas fight scenes between detectives and bad guys. The acting and directing in this is brilliant and works superbly.
5. This screenshot is taken towards the end of the video and shows the 3 detectives (Beastie Boys) walking down the footpath side by side after they have done their job. In a lot of police dramas, especially the ones noted earlier on in this blog post, they do this and by replicating it, this creates a funny ending to a work of art music video sending the audience off on a high note wanting more.
